ACTING DEPARTMENT
“All the world's a stage, and
all the men and women
merely players.” ― William
Shakespeare, As You Like It
Acting as a Profession
Starfactory provides practical experience and hands-on education to our
students so that not only do they develop their craft as actors, but excel at
acting in front of the camera and on stage.
For a student to learn acting, the student must access the experiences of his
or her own life and bring that to the stage or screen. Our professional
instructors use the experiences of the students to guide them through a self-discovery of their experiential world and lead them to success in the art of
acting.
Through role playing, imitation of different kinds of people and life
situations, and imagining different life scenarios, students learn how to bring
their own experiences, their inner and outer emotions to life through
verbalization, intonation, facial expression, and body language. Each student’s
own experiences, with guidance, challenge, and encouragement from our
professional instructors, will enable the student to stand in the shoes a
multitude of different types of characters and be truly successful as an actor.
