ChienYu Lai 

(Piano)

 

      Chien-Yu Lai is a pianist, and a versatile composer for visual media, whose works include scores and custom music for films, video games, advertisements and theatrical productions.

      Born in Taiwan, Chien-Yu was raised to a classical music of Mozart, Beethoven and the instrumental scores from Joe Hisaishi. A pianist and viola player with classical training, Chien-Yu followed the off-beat path of rock and roll into Taipei’s burgeoning rock scene, playing and recording keyboards for several bands from 2006-2008.

      Now based in Los Angeles, Chien-Yu completed a MFA degree in Music for Visual Media at the Academy of Art University. She has composed works for movie Die, Ember, Fourth Door, and game Max’s Adventures, and the MMML Children Theatre in Taipei.
